It’s all about who you know. And darling, you’ve come to the right place!
Ok, let’s just put it out there…Since March this year, we have all been on a trajectory of life experiences that can be clearly summed up as ‘total crap’. Luckily with the support of each other, we are all trying to navigate a way to best live under the heavy cloud of COVID-19.
As someone who has always worked hard 11 months of the year (insert countless late night laptop sessions) for the promise of an international holiday, the hopes of stamping my passport have been completely decimated thanks to current circumstances.
Well, push aside those cheap prescription pills you want to wash down with Passion Pop because we have a solution! It is time to explore our own city and holiday BIG at home (no camping here sweeties)!
Now, l have tried to gain satisfaction from visiting Stanthorpe, Maleny, Tweed Heads, Coolum, Brisbane and even Toowoomba. All lovely, but l need more! (Yes, First World problem and l send love to my Melbourne friends).
Christmas is a time when l crave to visit cold climates, which is only achieved by travelling overseas from my Gold Coast home. As that’s not going to be possible this year, l am creating my own international hotel experience right here on the Gold Coast. I love Queensland, but every damn destination in the state is either booked out or charging prices greater than Trump payed in tax in one year…. the millions apparently?
At a time when l should be making snowmen in Northern Europe, l am instead locking myself down on the GC in full air-conditioned comfort. Five nights, four rooms (one a suite for me of course) and we are bunking down at The Star Gold Coast.
The family and l will not be leaving our luxury compound.
That’s right, the Squirrel is recreating a New York Christmas right here at home on the Gold Coast. Don’t tell anyone, but l am doing a BYO Christmas tree and decorations for my room. The family will gather around the tree on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We will pretend we are in NYC, drink mulled wine (heads up room service), sing carols and pretend we are on the other side of the world. It is our way of coping with not leaving the summer sweat box during Christmas time.
We are now all excited about Christmas. BUT wait!
If you cannot wait until Christmas for a local Staycation and need a reason to spoil yourself, partner, family, and friends, roll out the red carpet and book a Staycation at The Star Gold Coast.
Check out all their clever packages. Be quick, as the clever and light-on-the-pocket packages sale ends on 31st October, but valid for stays until 30 November.
It has been a crap year, reward yourself.
Let me know if you do and l will meet you at the bar for a French Martini or ten. Cheers!
Kindly
Squirrel x
