It’s all about who you know. And darling, you’ve come to the right place!
Multi award-winning Chef and Restaurateur Daniel Ridgeway and his wife Ruggie have announced their esteemed Mermaid Beach fine-dining restaurant Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar is to re-open after extensive and impressive renovations.
The Gold Coast dining institution decided to close their doors during the heavy works of the light rail due to noise issues for their guests and now it is time to open the iconic timber doors once again. Little Truffle Dining Room and Bar opens today, Tuesday 10th October 2023 from 5.30pm.
“We are so excited to finally open our doors again. It has been far too long, 11 months without operating our first restaurant has been difficult, but the wait is finally over. Our loyal customers have missed us and we have certainly missed them. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back to see what we have created.”said owner and chef Daniel Ridgeway.
The award-winning venue has undergone a massive million-dollar renovation which includes a complete change of layout, fixtures, seating, bar, amenities, and kitchen.
“We have finally been able to create the Little Truffle we have always envisioned. We literally ripped everything out and started from scratch. Little Truffle 2.0 is a classy, lux venue which features a deep navy colour scheme with brushed brass finishings, dramatic velvet curtains, and dark timber floors.” said owners Daniel and Ruggie Ridgeway.
The new Little Truffle menu will also be revealed this week and features some of their classic dishes including the heirloom beetroot salad, Moreton Bay bug & prawn tortellini, and vanilla panna cotta and raspberry souffle. Other than these Little Truffle classics, the menu is completely new. However, do not worry, some of the other signature dishes will still make an appearance from time to time.
“Our spring re-opening menu features a wide array of new dishes including beef tartare, duck breast cassoulet with Toulouse sausage, quail ballotine, and steamed ocean trout. The highlight of the new menu is showcasing dishes from our new wood-fired oven, such as a cast iron baked focaccia with mozzarella, whole fish, and an impression selection of prime meat cuts.” said owner and chef Daniel Ridgeway
The grill and wood-fired dishes include a delicious Cape Grimm beef rib eye, Wagyu steak special, a whole lamb shoulder and whole fish of the day. Dessert lovers will also be impressed by the new dessert trolley featuring a dessert du jour to compliment the strawberry ‘Romanoff’, souffle, panna cotta and affogato.
Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar also boasts not one, but two private dining spaces. The Cellar Room is a fully private room which caters for up to 20 guests. Along with the stunning chandeliers, the Cellar Room also has a private entry separate to the main entry if discretion is required or preferred.
Also catering for up to 16 people and located in the main dining room, The Indigo Room can be made into a private space using purpose-built elegant thick curtains. The new open kitchen also allows for the award-winning venue to offer a chefs table that peers into the kitchen; ideal for 2, however can accommodate up to 12 guests.
Little Truffle now features a New York style 8-seater bar, ideal for a pre or post dinner beverage or full dining experience.
Daniel Ridgeway will be heading up the culinary team alongside his long-term Chef de Cuisine, Jason Burt. Venue Manager, Josh Webber and assistant manager, Ben Thiedeman are ready to welcome back loyal customers and welcome new guests as well.
“We cannot wait for our loyal locals and visitors to see our brand-new Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar. We appreciated our customers patience and loyalty during our renovations. We are certain that you will be blown away by our new sophisticated, yet approachable venue. See you all very soon.” said Daniel and Ruggie Ridgeway.
