The Star is getting set for a sizzling summer of racing, entertainment and celebrations, unveiling its ambassadors for This Summer Live and The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival 2020 – Channel Seven presenter Abbey Gelmi and Queensland ironman, model and TV personality Jett Kenny.
Headlining the red-hot summer entertainment program, Abbey and Jett will be the face of the star-studded line-up of festivities taking place at The Star for Magic Millions, as the venue again becomes the official destination for all off-track action from January 3 to 12.
As principal partner and naming rights sponsor for the Gold Coast’s biggest raceday event for second year running, January’s Carnival will see 10 electric days of racing, glamour, celebrity-spotting and celebrations, with after-parties for Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo (January 5) and The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday (January 11) returning to the new-look Garden Kitchen & Bar.
The 2020 Carnival calendar will also include a thrilling line up of first-time Star events, including a ‘Women with Horsepower’ exclusive VIP ladies luncheon on January 8 and a celebrity-filled charity Poker tournament on January 10.
The Star Gold Coast Chief Operating Officer Jess Mellor said she was confident with Abbey and Jett on board as The Star’s new ambassadors, the stage was set for an unforgettable 10 days on-track and on property.
“Summertime at The Star is quintessentially Magic Millions and a time for celebrations,” Jess said.
“Every year we look forward to welcoming tens of thousands of guests to the Gold Coast to experience the thrill of our city’s own racing carnival and everything The Star has to offer.
“In 2020 we have introduced some exciting new events into the 10-day celebration schedule, with our raceday after parties and summer offerings underway at all of our restaurants and bars, The Star is the best place to be when not at the track.”
Channel Seven presenter Abbey said she couldn’t wait to celebrate the start of 2020 on the Gold Coast and take in all the fashion and festivities at Polo and Raceday.
“Magic Millions is the perfect combination of racing, fashion and fun. Being a summer racing carnival, it has a unique identity all of its own,” Abbey said.
“I’ve attended Magic Millions many times before and couldn’t be more excited to be working with The Star this coming season.”
Jett said he was also looking forward to enjoying his first Magic Millions Carnival as ambassador for The Star.
“The Magic Millions Carnival is always a fantastic time of year on the Coast, and I’m really excited to be involved with The Star for next year’s event,” Jett said.
