In the perfect kick-start to summer, a free outdoor concert BLVD Sounds will be setting the stage in Surfers Paradise laneway on Saturday December 3, with famed seven-piece beatmakers the Cheap Fakes to headline a stellar line-up of five live bands and roving entertainment.
Welcoming the balmy nights ahead with sounds, snacks and sundowners, the unmissable BLVD Sounds will take over the popular Cavill Lane precinct – located in the heart of Surfers Paradise – from 4:00 pm, with a back-to-back line-up of local bands and renowned artists hitting the stage across the afternoon and into the evening.
The family-friendly BLVD Sounds concert will pair sunset beats with delicious eats, with Cavill Lane’s renowned culinary corridor (just below Hilton Surfers Paradise) to open all afternoon and evening, serving up a smorgasbord of mouth-watering international meals, sumptuous snacks and ice-cold beverages to live-music lovers.
Gold Coast rap/folk/reggae outfit River Movement will get the party started, before electro-jazz songstress and The Voice Australia 2021 finalist Tanya George brings her soulful dynamics to the BLVD Sounds stage. Renowned songwriter and vocalist SK Simeon will have the crowd dancing in the street to energetic reggae beats, before Gold Coast trio Satisvibes send their captivating hip-hop/soul tunes across the Cavill Lane hub.
The outdoor concert’s stacked line-up will peak with Brisbane’s own Cheap Fakes lighting up the summer night sky with its deep bass, big horns, catchy rhythms, and flawless toe-tapping festival vibes.
Cavill Lane’s Marketing and Events Manager Carleen Janlewicz is gearing up to welcome locals and visitors alike to the laneway precinct with the free family-friendly outdoor concert, an event created to welcome the summer season by spotlighting both up-and-coming musicians and well-established performers.
“We’re delighted to be working with local musicians and stakeholders in the wider community to be able to contribute to the Gold Coast entertainment and live-music scene with BLVD Sounds,” said Ms Janlewicz.
“Cavill Lane Surfers Paradise is a unique laneway in the heart of the city, and it provides the perfect setting for a safe and fun environment for music lovers, while providing a platform for talented live musicians to share their sounds.”
Locals are invited to time their favourite acts with a visit to one of Cavill Lane’s tasty tenants – perfect for a quick snack or sip between sets. Slurp bowls of soul-soothing goodness at Ramen Danbo, savour flavour- packed sizzling chilli prawns at Rice Vs Noodle, settle in for a music-fuelled feast at Yum Cha Noodle Haus or fire up the grills at Korean Kitchen. For a quick snack, there’s much-loved Nepalese hotspot Kathmandu Momo House & Bar for on-the-go momos, freshly made rolls at Sushi Ave, hunger-busting Orchid Kebabs and sensational Indonesian eats at Bali in Paradise.
The experience will continue after the last BLVD Sounds set, with free entry to Steampunk Surfers Paradise for more live music, fun vibes and late-night snacks from 9:00pm onwards.
