A sea of pastel suits and dresses, sunshine, and high spirits filled the Gold Coast Turf Club on Saturday as One Sunny Race Dayreturned in spectacular style, raising vital funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland (RMHC SEQ). More than 400 guests attended the sell-out charity race day, presented by naming rights partner Cornetts Supermarkets, with the Palm Springs-inspired event proving to be one of the social highlights of the year.

Hosted by popular media personality Spida Everitt from 92.5 Triple M Gold, the day unfolded in the prestigious Events Centre overlooking the track. Guests were treated to a decadent three-course luncheon, premium beverages — including Moët Champagne for VIP tables — and an afternoon filled with racing, entertainment, and charitable spirit.

With fashion at the forefront, attendees embraced the Palm Springs theme in full force, donning pastel tones, bold prints, and retro flair. Between races, guests enjoyed live music, a luxury raffle, and powerful stories from families supported by RMHC SEQ.

In an emotional highlight, Ellie’s story — a young girl diagnosed with a rare cancer — brought many to tears. Her mother Aimee shared how RMHC SEQ had provided their family with critical accommodation and support during their darkest days. The heart-warming message reinforced the core purpose behind the event: keeping families together during serious illness or injury.

Emma Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of RMHC SEQ, thanked guests and sponsors, saying:
