One Sunny Race Day, the highly anticipated charity event hosted by Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland (RMHC SEQ), is back for 2025! Mark your calendars for Saturday, 14 June 2025, for the ‘Palm Springs’ inspired race day as the Gold Coast Turf Club’s Events Centre comes alive with exciting races, delectable food, and vibrant entertainment, all in the name of supporting families with ill or injured children.

Cornetts Supermarkets, an independently owned grocery chain with 36 stores across Queensland, has come on board as the naming rights sponsor for One Sunny Race Day 2025. Cornetts Supermarkets is committed to supporting local communities, and their involvement in this special event highlights their dedication to making a difference in the lives of families across Queensland.

This year’s race day will be hosted by media personality, 92.5 Triple M Gold Spida Everitt, jam packed with thrilling races and top-tier entertainment at one of Queensland’s premier race venues, the Gold Coast Turf Club.  South East Queensland’s social and corporate elite will flock to the race course for a charity race day set to impress.  With premium trackside views, mouth-watering morsels, and sensational sips, this event will have something for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned racing enthusiast or someone looking to enjoy a beautiful day out, One Sunny Race Day offers an unforgettable experience with guests encouraged to dress in the theme of ‘Palm Springs’ by wearing pastel dresses and suits.

At the heart of One Sunny Race Day is a powerful mission. All proceeds from the event will directly support Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland, providing essential accommodation and support programs for families with children who are ill or injured. RMHC SEQ ensures families can stay close to their children during critical times, reducing the emotional and financial burdens they face.

Ellie’s journey is just one example of how RMHC SEQ has impacted families in South East Queensland. At just four years old, Ellie was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. During this challenging time, RMHC SEQ provided her family with a place to stay, allowing them to remain close while Ellie underwent treatment.

“When Ellie received her diagnosis, we were so incredibly lost, confused and heartbroken. Here we were attempting to appreciate the birth of our final baby and in what should have been a blissfully happy time, we were fearing what the future held for our eldest. We were faced with such two different extremes.”

“RMHC SEQ has provided us with a home, a safe place, an enjoyable place to be through the darkest of times. Their staff and volunteers have held us up when we have been at our lowest and for all of it, we will be forever grateful.” Said Ellie’s mum Aimee.
