A group of three friends decided to take the plunge and open their own business at The Oasis Broadbeach.   Krystal Kewalee, Tony Kritthaphas and Nan Chuminunt recently opened Spice Kitchen and Bar, a Thai eatery that has already gained a strong local following for their authentic cuisine.

Co-owner Nan and Chef Tony have been friends for more than 10 years and their interest and passion for cooking has budded and grown from living in their very country, Thailand.  They studied a cooking course and have trained and experimented with cooking ever since then, truly living out their passion and pride of their own cultural cuisine.

The young, but talented team wanted to pay homage to their cultural background and their menu has been crafted by the most popular dishes in Thailand.  Some of these dishes are quite unique such as Lanna Thai Curry or Khao Soi as it is one of the most popular dishes from their hometown which doesn’t feature in most Thai restaurants in Australia.   Both Tony and Nan add their own little twist in either the taste, presentation or creativity of the dish, while maintaining the authentic taste of Thai food.

One of the most important factors that they all hold dear to their hearts is to ensure the quality of the food that is served to customers.  The Chef’s source the best ingredients available to ensure their dishes are of the highest standard.

“We decided to open Spice Kitchen & Bar at The Oasis due to the convenient, relaxing, yet hustle and bustle of the location, as well as the vibe that it provides, which is suitable to our restaurant theme.  We have decorated the restaurant with a mix of greenery and real plants that purify the air to indicate the freshness and nature vibes and we also love the proximity to the beach.” Said co-owner Krystal Kewalee.

Featured dishes include a rage of bao’s including the Lanna Pork Charcoal Boa (pictured above) and Sriracha & Honey Chicken Charcoal Boa.   Main dishes feature a range of rice, noodles, meats, stir-fry’s, soups, salads and of course spicy curries.

Spice Kitchen & Bar is located at The Oasis Broadbeach, next to Harajuku Gyoza.

Open daily from 11am to 9:30pm.
