The dining scene at Oasis Shopping Centre continues to evolve with the opening of Nigiwai
Japanese Restaurant, bringing a premium Japanese dining experience to the heart of
Broadbeach.

The latest dining destination is giving locals and visitors another reason to Meet Me at The Oasis,
whether it’s for a long lunch with friends, dinner with family, a pre-night-out catch-up or simply
to discover something new.

Nigiwai joins a growing collection of restaurants, cafés and food experiences that have helped
establish the centre as much more than a place to shop. Located at 75 Surf Parade, just moments
from the beach, The Oasis has long been a destination for locals, visitors and tourists looking to
eat, shop, meet and spend time in one of the Gold Coast’s most vibrant precincts.
Now, Japanese cuisine is adding another flavour to the mix.

important part of the centre experience.

Created by a passionate hospitality team with extensive experience in Japanese cuisine and
restaurant operations, Nigiwai has been designed around the Japanese philosophy of bringing
people together through food, combining traditional techniques with contemporary
presentation and a strong focus on premium ingredients.

The name Nigiwai represents vibrancy, liveliness and the joy of people gathering together, a
philosophy that perfectly aligns with the spirit of Meet Me at The Oasis.
For Nigiwai’s Owner, Broadbeach was a natural home for the restaurant.
“Broadbeach has an incredible energy and a really strong dining culture,” said Nigiwai’s owner,

“We wanted to be part of that and create somewhere that people could come for a special
occasion, but also somewhere they could simply drop in for great Japanese food. The Oasis is a
great location because it has such a strong connection with the local community as well as
visitors to the Gold Coast.”

At the heart of Nigiwai is a menu that goes well beyond traditional sushi, offering diners the
opportunity to explore an extensive selection of premium seafood, sashimi, sushi, wagyu, grilled
dishes, hot pots, ramen, donburi and Japanese-inspired desserts.

Among the menu highlights is the Nigiwai Premium Sashimi Set, a spectacular selection
showcasing fresh salmon, tuna, kingfish, Hokkaido scallops, salmon roe and sea urchin creating
a seafood experience designed to be shared.

The Salmon Four Seasons Sashimi Set offers another standout experience, presenting salmon in
four different styles and cuts, while premium ingredients such as Hokkaido scallops, sea urchin,
salmon roe and fresh seafood feature throughout the menu.

For sushi lovers, Nigiwai offers everything from classic nigiri and maki through to more
contemporary creations. The Nigiwai Roll combines crispy fried shrimp, avocado and cream
cheese, finished with spicy mayonnaise and sweet tare sauce, while the visually striking Dragon
Roll brings together avocado, unagi and cream cheese.

The Salmon Lava Cheese Roll puts a playful contemporary spin on sushi with crispy salmon and
cheese, while the restaurant’s Sushi Truffle Shots offer a more indulgent bite-sized experience,
with salmon, unagi and Hokkaido scallop options paired with Japanese rice and creamy truffle
sauce.

Nigiwai’s handroll offering is another feature of the menu, with premium ingredients wrapped
in crisp nori and designed to be enjoyed fresh.

Wagyu also takes centre stage, appearing across several dishes including Wagyu Sushi, Wagyu
Tartare and a premium Wagyu Steak served with mushrooms, garlic, vegetables, sea salt, black
pepper and pickled wasabi.

The result is a menu that moves effortlessly from delicate seafood and sushi through to richer,
more substantial dishes, making Nigiwai equally suited to a special occasion or a casual catch up.
Beyond sushi and sashimi, Nigiwai explores the comforting side of Japanese cuisine.
The restaurant’s Nabe hot pots are designed for sharing, with options including a Beef Nabe
featuring wagyu beef and vegetables, and a Seafood Nabe showcasing prawns, New Zealand
mussels, squid and kingfish.

From the grill, diners can choose from dishes including Grilled Hokkaido Hotate, Grilled Unagi,
Salmon Steak and Wagyu Steak, while the menu also features Japanese favourites such as
Chawanmushi, Grill Gyoza, Agedashi Tofu, Takoyaki and fresh oysters.

For those looking for something comforting, Nigiwai serves a selection of ramen including
Tonkatsu Ramen, Miso Ramen and Tom Yum Ramen, while the donburi menu includes Nigiwai
Poke Bowl, Bara Chirashi Don, Salmon Ikura Don and Unagi Don.

There is even a contemporary twist on pasta, including Tom Yum Kung Pasta with premium
prawns, lemongrass, kaffir lime and chilli, and Hotate Ebiko Sauce Pasta, combining Hokkaido
scallops, salmon roe and a creamy shrimp roe sauce.
To finish, Japanese-inspired desserts include Daifuku Mochi Matcha and Caramel Custard with
Vanilla Ice Cream.

The arrival of Nigiwai reinforces The Oasis’ evolving role as a place to meet, eat and spend time
