Showcasing Modern and Traditional Culinary Techniques in Thai Cuisine
The Oasis in Broadbeach have just unveiled the latest addition to their dining scene with the launch of a new Thai eatery, Nahm Kitchen and Bar.
Led by Chef Theemachit Chit Kaen (aka Coke), Nahm Kitchen and Bar brings an exciting and innovative twist to classic Thai cuisine.
“’Nahm’ in Thai language means ‘water’,” explains Coke. “The name flows perfectly with our concept to deliver food that can take on any form – a progressive Thai dining experience that has no boundaries.”
Coke, who has lived in Sydney since 2005 has established a career in progressive Asian cuisine over the past 14 years. He cut his teeth in Thai cooking at the acclaimed Alphabet St in Cronulla and moved to the Gold Coast in 2017 looking for a seachange, where he took up the role of Sous Chef at the Japanese Izakaya, Etsu.
“I’m thrilled to be cooking Thai food again and to open Nahm Kitchen and Bar for owners Brendan and Monica Choi”, says Coke.
“The Nahm menu is certainly not traditional Thai but I think guests will enjoy the exciting and flavourful contemporary twist”, he exclaims.
“We source much of our produce locally and make all sauces/dishes from scratch in-house. I love experimenting with ingredients and building upon Thai classics.”
Some of Coke’s menu highlights include the slow cooked beef short ribs with green apple, tamarind and chili salad and the Choo Chee curry with hearty smoked lamb cutlets. For a fresh and punchy bite, also be sure to try the mixed vegetable salad with lychee, pineapple, green papaya, dill and crispy onions drizzled with a tamarind, chili dressing.
Nahm Kitchen and Bar pairs innovative Thai cuisine with an impressive selection of local wines and popular Burleigh Beer brand, Black Hops.
Our new bar master Carlos Mossieira will explain menu and wine paring tonight whilst serving food and wine.
Opening 7 days from 11am – 9pm. Restaurant bookings recommended. Call 07 55317426.
