Broadbeach has a hot new watering hole!
The Good Time Group’s CEO, Ben Walsh has officially opened Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar & Diner, the first slick venue to open in the exciting multi-venue dining precinct under the 5-star Avani apartment tower in Broadbeach.
The edgy venue which has been architecturally designed by Sydney’s Paul Kelly, is now delivering an exciting reinvention of the classic American diner experience, with a kick-ass side of sports galore! The impressive new venue will also be open until 11pm every night of the week, ideal for locals and tourists looking for a late-night snack, something that has been missing in the city for a very long time.
Front and centre of the sprawling new Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar & Diner is the custom designed ‘Wall of Infamy’ which celebrates street cred and some of the world’s most controversial characters including Charlie Sheen, Bill Clinton, Britney Spears and Monica Lewinsky.
Then, you have the coveted 16-seat bar which offers prime viewing of worldwide sports across nine epic screens. The Fat Freddy’s Bar also pays homage to celebrity types with each seat to be specially named and dedicated to Australian sporting stars, especially those living on the Gold Coast. The first local legend to receive a ‘seat at the bar’ will be unveiled very soon!
Whether you’re rubbing shoulders with the famous and infamous at the bar, going incognito in one of the luxe leather booths or mingling with the locals at the extensive alfresco area, Fat Freddy’s delivers an outrageous assault on the senses. An electric atmosphere of global sports reinvented American food and drinks and a punchy playlist of new wave/synth pop from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s is all part of the package at Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar and Diner.
When it comes to dining, Fat Freddy’s clever crew, led by Executive Chef Braden White, have totally reinvented the American diner classics with hearty, cutting-edge dishes including quality burger and dogs, fried chicken ribs with hot sour sauce, truffle mac and cheese croquets, BBQ spiced popcorn with bacon butter and the moreish Wagyu jerky with smoked cream and BBQ salt.
Wash it all down with a diverse range of U.S and Australian beer, an extensive American whiskey and bourbon selection and modern diner cocktails that include boozy shakes and spiked sodas.
Some of the favourite libations include the Miami-Vice Splice-Cream, which is Fat Freddy’s rendition of a Midori Splice or the Nitro Charged Alabama Slammer. When it comes to boozy shakes, you can’t go past The Shooter McGavin with buffalo trace bourbon and malted vanilla thick shake topped with smoked maple and waffle!
“The popularity of American diner food is at an all-time high, however it’s not often executed to the standard that really pays respectful homage to the classics flavours of these all-American dishes and drinks. We have taken American diner classics, reinvented and refined them whilst ensuring the flavours of the classic US dishes shine through!” said Executive Chef Braden White.
The Good Time Group’s CEO, Ben Walsh adds;
“With the quality of our food and beverage offerings at Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar & Diner, we expect to appeal to a wide demographic and definitely become a hang-out for local well-known identities.”
